Welcome to the very first episode of the Women of a Certain Stage podcast.

I'm your host, Lauren Chiren, and I'm thrilled to start this incredible journey with all of you. To kick things off with a twist, I flipped the script and invited the wonderful coach and podcast host, Amy Rowlinson, to interview me.
Amy and I talked about my journey, exploring the moment I mistakenly self-diagnosed with early-onset dementia.
At that time, I was a thriving senior executive in the financial sector, juggling global teams, and enjoying my career. But the symptoms, like anxiety and memory issues, made me feel lost and overwhelmed. It wasn't until a trip to Iceland and a conversation with my doctor that I discovered the real culprit: menopause.
Reflecting on my experience, Amy highlighted the irony of my health background yet not recognising menopause symptoms.

This lack of awareness led me to create platforms where women could come together, share their stories, and support one another. From organising social events to corporate talks, I was on a mission to normalise menopause conversations.
Over the past eleven years, I’ve travelled the world, learning how different cultures view and support menopause.
Some societies celebrate this phase as a time of empowerment, something I aspire to bring into Western culture. From those early months of self-exploration, my life transformed into a global mission, culminating in the launch of my menopause coach training program.
Our conversation wrapped with an exciting look forward. Amy and I discussed the broader implications of my work - from supporting individual people to impacting workplace policies and building an expansive community through this podcast.
My vision is clear: create a world where no woman has to face perimenopause and menopause alone.

This new podcast is a hub for knowledge, support, and connection. Whether you're experiencing menopause, supporting someone who is, or looking to become a coach, there’s something here for you.
So, join our community, follow the show, and let’s make menopause a conversation we all can learn from.
